Term Meaning
Abort / Continue / Ignore What happens after a step fails. See Error handling.
Agent The AutoTestX Agent: a small Windows program that opens Record, Pick and Watch browsers on the tester’s own computer for a hosted server.
Application A named system under test (Maximo). Environments link to it.
Artifact A file a run produces, mainly screenshots
Block step A step with child steps: If / Else, For each, Repeat, While, Lookup
Cleanup Steps that always run at the end of a test, pass or fail
Component A reusable, versioned sequence of steps with parameters, called by a pinned version
Data pool Single-use records that data-driven rows lease, so concurrent runs never share one
Data set A reusable table of inputs (also from CSV / Excel)
Data-driven A test that runs once per row of a data source
Degraded / drift A step found its element only through a fallback locator; it passes with a warning
Deprecated A test kept for history that can no longer run or change
Draft A test (version) that can be edited
DSL The JSON format every test is stored in
Engine What runs a test: web (implemented), android, ios
Environment Where a test runs: variables like baseUrl, plus secrets
Expression A small formula, e.g. COUNT(lines) > 0
Fingerprint Everything recorded about an element, used for fallbacks and drift detection
Lookup A composite step that chooses values in a lookup/search dialog by their text
Organization Top level grouping of projects and people
Pinned version The exact component version a call uses; never “latest”
Project A team workspace; roles, tests, environments and runs live here
Ready A reviewed test version, frozen so runs stay repeatable
Revision A new version of a Ready test, starting as a Draft copy
Run One execution of a test against an environment
Runtime variable A value set during a run (Extract, Set variable, HTTP saveAs…)
Scope (target) Narrows where an element is searched: a frame, or a container such as a grid row by key
Secret A credential stored per environment; never shown, always masked
Soft assertion A check that records its failure and lets the test continue, failing the run at the end
Strategy One way to find an element (testId, role, label, text, css, xpath…)
Suite A functional area grouping tests (Purchasing)
Target The ordered list of strategies (plus scope and fingerprint) that identifies a step’s element
Template Text with {{…}} placeholders, e.g. Order {{poNumber}}
Version A numbered revision of a test
